Seattle (March 31, 2009)
Hotel 1000, downtown Seattle’s premier luxury destination, was recognized on National Geographic Traveler’s “Stay List” for 2009, which is comprised of 129 distinguished properties in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Debuting in the April issue of National Geographic Traveler magazine, the 2nd Annual “Stay List” features hotels based on the key criteria of engagement with the local community, subscription to sustainable practices and the overall ability to capture the spirit of its setting.
Hotel 1000 inspired National Geographic Traveler by its high-tech amenities, unique architecture, authentic Northwest cuisine and captivating setting.
“We are honored to be recognized as one of only 129 hotels on this prestigious list,” said Denny Fitzpatrick, general manager, Hotel 1000.
Boasting a multi-million dollar technology infrastructure, Hotel 1000 is the industry leader for state-of-the-art services and personalized guest room amenities, including an intelligent private bar, touch screen VoIP phones, ambiance controls and 40-inch LCD televisions with virtual surround sound and dual performance capabilities as computer screen, digital art gallery and Satellite radio. In addition, Hotel 1000 and IdentityMine partnered to release one of the first customized versions of the latest Microsoft Surface applications. IdentityMine designed, developed and installed the customized applications for Microsoft Surface specifically for Hotel 1000, which features more than 100 Points of Interest, a Card Reader for guests’ digital cameras and a custom music selection.
“The hotels on our Stay List 2009 don’t just reflect their surroundings—they help define them,” says National Geographic Traveler Senior Editor Sheila Feldman Buckmaster. “What they all have in common is a transcendent vision that goes beyond traditional hotel-keeping. This mindset is what gives these hotels their sense of place. Make no mistake: you’ll sense the vibe at once. And after your stay, you’ll leave with the kind of insight only soulful places can provide.”
