TWO MTM LUXURY LODGING HOTELS NAMED ON CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER'S HOT LIST IN MAY 2008

Ivy Hotel and The Liberty Hotel are the two newest properties in Kirkland-based management company's portfolio.

MTM Luxury Lodging, a Kirkland-based boutique hotel management company, announces that both of its new properties have been awarded a place on Condé Nast Traveler’s Hot List, appearing in the travel magazine’s May 2008 issue. The Ivy Hotel in San Diego (opened in May 2007) and The Liberty Hotel in Boston (September 2007), were both among only 20 hotels chosen in the United States.

The Hot List announcement follows numerous accolades that other local MTM properties have received recently, including Cave B Inn at SageCliffe, which was honored by National Geographic Traveler magazine as one of 150 hotels chosen for its eco-stewardship and ethics of sustainability. Additionally, Willows Lodge was named to Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List in January 2008, while Hotel 1000 made the Robb Report’s Top 100 Luxury Hotels in the World in November 2007.

With rankings of “hot”, “hotter” and “hottest” on this year’s Hot List, the Ivy Hotel was deemed “hotter” and according to Condé Nast Traveler, “substance also accompanies style” in this boutique hotel with a “voyeuristic vibe” complete with Thai linens, translucent shower cubes and a rooftop sundeck where after-dark movies are screened.

The Liberty Hotel, deemed “hot,” which is housed in the former Charles Street Jail, evokes a sense of history, but is clearly in the present with as much high-tech as a guest could want. Condé Nast Traveler noted that guests will not feel like prisoners and the party atmosphere lends itself well to the hotel’s bar, Alibi, where a line “usually winds out the door.”

According to Condé Nast Traveler, “hotels are like cars: new models can dazzle with flashy looks and marketing hype, but only after you test-drive them does their true performance come to light. After scrutinizing the thousands of hotels that opened in the last year, [they] checked in to the most promising – incognito, of course – appraising the location, service, design and value. [They] came across [their] fair share of lemons. But the 136 properties that won [them] over are the most global group yet.”
