MTM LUXURY LODGING RECEIVES HOTEL VISIONARY AWARD FROM HOSPITALITY TECHNOLOGY MAGAZINE

This hotel company is recognized for its innovative use of technology throughout its properties.

Seattle, Wash. (April 25, 2008)
MTM Luxury Lodging is the proud recipient of the Hotel Visionary Award in the Overall Technology Innovation category, presented by Hospitality Technology (HT) magazine, as announced yesterday at a ceremony in Las Vegas.

MTM hotels have taken technology to a whole new level, well beyond the usual industry offerings. New MTM properties feature fully converged IP networks with open architecture, thus permitting both initial sophistication as well as the capability to effectively and cost efficiently remain on the leading edge of technical innovation. The use of “enterprised” systems in all hotels, including those “Pre-IP” have extended many of the latest benefits to the group.

“Consumers have become increasingly tech-savvy and expect greater levels of personalized service during their hotel stay. The lodging industry continues to strive to exceed guest expectations, and the hotels selected for the 2008 Hotel Visionary Awards are leading the way. It’s our pleasure to recognize them for their efforts,” says Abigail A. Lorden, editor for Hospitality Technology and the engineer behind the Hotel Visionary Awards program.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from Hospitality Technology,” said MTM Luxury Lodging Partner James Simkins. “We view technology as an essential element in enabling superior service in the industry today and are committed to providing our customers (guests, staff and our owners) with the tools that enhance the MTM experience.”

A good example of this enhanced service revolves around the ability of Hotel 1000 to automate the “personalization” of a guest room to the desires of our guests at check-in. A series of two way xml interfaces facilitate the setting of guest room temperature, audio and living art preferences to those previously selected by regular clients of the Hotel. In addition, the components of the system permit utility load shedding when the room is unoccupied, an intrusion free method of checking whether the room is occupied and the return of default settings automatically.

About the Hotel Visionary Awards
Now in their fourth year, the Hotel Visionary Awards, presented by Hospitality Technology (HT) magazine, seek to honor hotel companies for outstanding achievement in delivering technological, operational and overall excellence to guests. The awards honor three hotel companies, one in each of three categories. The first two categories, Overall Technology Innovation and Exceeding Guest Expectations, are permanent fixtures of the awards, with a winner chosen in those categories each year. The third and final category is selected on an annual basis based on market trends surrounding innovation. The third category for the 2008 Awards is Outstanding Achievement in In-Room Innovation.

Winners are judged by HT editorial staff on a basis of innovation, thought leadership, and forward-thinking vision, and announced at the Hotel Technology Forum, on Thursday, April 24, 2008. This three-day networking and educational event (scheduled April 23-25, 2008, at the Four Seasons, Las Vegas) brought together executives from leading hotel companies to share strategies and tactics for achieving operational excellence and meeting guest expectations.

Hospitality Technology received its highest number of nominations for the Awards this year, with more than 40 hotel companies being either self or third-party nominated. The nomination pool was comprised of many highly-accomplished and forward-thinking hotel companies, making this years’ competition the toughest yet.

The winning hotels received a plaque with a personalized commemoration of the achievement, and representatives from the winning companies received an invitation to attend the exclusive Lodging Leadership dinner at the Hotel Technology Forum with HT staff, event speakers, editorial advisory board members and representatives from dinner sponsor Microsoft.
